I was wondering if anyone knew anything further about the Chinese Shenzhou effort? I remember hearing about there last test flight, but I cannot even remember hearing how that went, or what their next plans were? Have they released any further plans or information on their status?
Joshua.
p.s. I sure hope they get something good going. Maybe I should learn mandarin...

Hi,
I think that shenzhou 4 should be in a couple of months.
Launch of shenhou 1-3 went good. They predict a human launch end 2003 - sometime 2004 if no failures

I'm looking forward to their upcoming heavy-launch vehicle...

I been hearing for a year now that they will be ready very soon to launch a manned flight, but I guess that in such a tricky business "very soon" is a relative term...
I saw a video yesterday on some "reality video" show of a "recent" Chinese launch that went awry...the feed from the launch was cut, but then they showed some video smuggled out of China from some devastated village that the person who shot it claimed was hit by the wayward rocket...if so, it would probably qualify as one of the biggest disasters in spaceflight history...

Any nation must accept that there will be failures....and go ahead nonetheless.....
The greatest risk is not taking one....
