Att. Director of Chapter Expansion

Hello

Sometime ago i was looking at ireland.seds.org and israel.seds.org websites,
and i thought about creating our own seds chapter at Spain, now its time to
do it. A little of my background, i am an EECS student at Universidad
Complutense de Madrid, working on several European Space Agency projects
SSETI & YES2 ), and helping UNSGAC.org team at Europe, and of course Spain.
I am going to start some projects with Spanish Space World Week coordination
too. As chairman of IEEE Student Branch at my University, i am able to
obtain some computer infrastructure and financial support from our
University in order to maintain an stable spanish chapter without any
problems. Apart from that due to my background i have contacts at Spanish
space agency ( INTA ) and some other space related companies and research
groups at my Country. Thanks to IEEE and other international associations i
have contacts at most spanish Universities with professional associations
and students volunteers, so activities in all spanish territory are a
reality.

here is my proposal, what is the next step?

thanks for your help

best regards
Adolfo Vázquez

Hello there.
Glad to hear you enjoyed our website, althought the english part is very small :)

Anyway, regarding SEDS-International.
As far as I know, look at it as more as a loose collection of student organzations for space promotion.
There is not much contact between the different SEDS-I chapters.
This is sad, but true.
But on the other Hand, I'm glad we are part of SEDS since it does gives you acsess to worldwide project (SGS/Yuri's night) and ppl to come to, if you need advice and help.
I'm sure Chris will add you soon to the chapters, And I will be glad to see another active international chapter on-board.

If you want advice regarding how to found the chapter itself, I will be more then happy to help you out.

Hi Adolfo,
I'm not sure why your email was rejected as spam -- we've had a severe problem with spam in the last few weeks, which disrupted our email for several days.

Daniel would be a wonderful person to help you on the "international scene", and I can help get you on the lists as a Spanish chapter of SEDS and online with the various web resources we have (spain.seds.org ?) and an area on this forum if you want it.

Perhaps Daniel, yourself and other non-US chapters can come up with some creative ideas on how to interract with other chapters around the globe, and perhaps work with each other on projects.

See my recent post to the student from Minnesota with regards to what to fill out to be recognized as a chapter.

Hi Chris,

>Daniel would be a wonderful person to help you on >the "international scene",

yeah it would be nice to organize some activity together, i know Paul Reilly too (Ireland SEDS)

>and I can help get you on the lists as a Spanish chapter of SEDS >and online with the various web resources we have >spain.seds.org ?) and an area on this forum if you want it.

i was talking to Paul, and he said me that SEDS provides int. chapters DNS records, my big problem is that now (in some months i would have access to one), i don't have a server where storage spain SEDS chapter website, so could you storage it?, yeah i would like it call spain.seds.org, and if possible, of course, i think it would be ok to have a forum and a mailing list, what other resources are avialable?, anyway my big problem is the website

>Perhaps Daniel, yourself and other non-US chapters can come >up with some creative ideas on how to interract with other >chapters around the globe, and perhaps work with each other >on projects.

yeah, i am working with some projects of UN related to Space, maybe one possibility is helping in the organization of Space World Week (the next week i am organizing the main activity in Spain), at Spain we are working also with some European Space Agency satellite building projects, what could we do together?, maybe develop something, find some space for us on a space congress in Europe or a place where all int. chapters could go, do a SEDS int. congress, what do you think?, all int. activities need money, but maybe National Space Agencies could provide us some help

>See my recent post to the student from Minnesota with regards >to what to fill out to be recognized as a chapter.

i read it, i have to submit this:

http://www.seds.org/seds/forms/update-info.html

i read that it was for national SEDS-USA chapters, there is something similar to int. chapters ( i would try to create some chapters on every Spain University )

Adolfo
