For those of you in the Washington, DC, area, here is an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sputnik that is being organized by the Russian Embassy. (Courtesy: American Astronautical Society (http://www.astronautical.org))

Attached are two flyers for the upcoming celebration of “50 years of the Space Age - From Competition to Cooperation.” The flyers address two activities:
Symposium at the AAAS Auditorium, Washington, DC – 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (see flyer for complete program)
Reception at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Washington, DC – 5:00 - 7:30 pm
Both events will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007. AAS is one of the co-sponsors.
The cost for the events are:
To attend both the symposium and the reception - $100.00
To attend the Symposium only - $70.00 (includes lunch)
To attend the reception only - $50.00 (includes hosted bar and buffet)
