SGAC is looking for a person to represent SGAC at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) in New York.
We have a consultative status there and are looking for someone who is interested to represent SGAC for one year during meetings of interest.
Some of the tasks include:
Representation of SGAC at the UN ECOSOC in New York
Coordinate (UN) tasks with SGAC Officer in Vienna
Update SGAC Executive Council about activities
Familiarization about SGAC's structure, aims and projects
Familiarization about ECOSOC and UN policies and procedures with respect to NGOs
Help out with general SGAC tasks during peak times if necessary
Requirements for this position include:
Ability to attend UN ECOSOC meetings of interest in New York
Ability to work with minor supervision
Fluency in English language
This is a volunteer position and will involve about 3 hours per week (more during meetings) of effort. Benefits may include attendance at conferences, SGAC events and UN COPUOS meetings. Please note SGAC cannot support you in traveling to New York.
