Can we do fundraising stuff at Geek Week or will the university frown upon that?

Eh who cares about what the University frowns apon ;-)

I dont think it will be a problem as long as we arent charging for Geek Week in general, just entrance fees for certain events and the like.

I think that the events that are planned should include a wide range of activities, from academic to even athletic competitions. There should also be awards for the individual events to be awarded to either individuals or groups. Something like gold, silver, and bronze (even if just a crayon or something) or even some certificates. It would also be nice to get other clubs involved to make things more interesting. Another idea would be to have one large trophy that the club that wins the most events holds onto for a semester, or until the next geek week, where it will be competed for again.

I think fundraising and other forms of public outreach would make this idea that much better.

Also the sooner the events get planned and a week is set aside for them, the better...because I don't think anyone interested in this wants to see it start for a few days then fizzle out. And I know it will be difficult since everyone has their own schedule and will all likely be busy, which is why if there are enough people interested then we should all get together and get some of this worked out.

From what Brittney has told me, everything is reserved on the Mall, it is just a matter of deciding what we are going to do...
