I guess they have made the engine stronger according to CNN:

Only 2 more weeks until we leave!

One of the X-Prize requirements is they carry a payload equivalent weight of 3 people. They only had one (the pilot) for the June launch. Next week, they're going to have the pilot and then two weights to simulate two other passengers. So they need a bigger engine.

I'm so psyched for this trip! All of my friends are sick of hearing about it. ;)

Mark

Going to be AWESOME to get to meet all of you SEDS - Illinois people at the X-Prize launch.

If Kirk hasnt spread the news, University of Arizona SEDS will be attending as well with 11 people.

We are driving though....

8 hour drive from the UofA to Mohave.... Anyone know any good car games? ;-)

I like the UofA article better ;-) Better picture too! Unfortunately, of all places, I'm stuck in Tucson for the launch. Perhaps I'll make the actual X-Prize winning flight (next week?)

Hey guys,

hope you all had an awesome time at the flight. I'm just about ready to head off to the Space Gen Congress so will see some good pictures from it all then hopefully :)

You know how we talked about a "chapter news" section on the main seds.org site? (some of you do), well, this is the kind of stuff I'd love to see on it! I think all the other chapters would love to hear about this kind of stuff that different SEDS people are doing.

Just a thought, I want to get more people thinking about this and hopefully we can get a chapter news section setup soon. Can't wait to see your pictures and all.

Josh.

If you want to see what it was like to be there for all three of the historic flights of Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne, check out the DVD, "Mojave Magic: A Turtle's Eye View of SpaceShipOne" at www.DesertTurtle.com. These guys did a great job of creating a real "you are there" experience. Even my kids love it!
