I really want to become a member of a chapter, but there isn't one near me and I DON'T have time to start one/keep one running. Does anyone have a suggestion? I go to college in Santa Barbara, California.

I really don't know about US chapters but in israel we are having more the 1 person running the show - so all you need to do is find 2-3 other guys who will be ready to help you out. and when the workload can be shared.
A good way is probably to just write a word document inviting ppl, or maybe organizing a lecture and afterwards ask ppl if they are interested. (or maybe using an existing science lecture)

Hi there, I'm the president of the ASGSB-SEDS chapter. We are a group of university students from across the USA who are also members of the American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology. Our chapter is very happy to be a part of SEDS, but we would like to get out of our own little bubble and interact with other SEDS chapters in the US. It seems like it is becoming more of a challenge than we anticipated. We were really hoping to attract more students from various SEDS chapters to participate with us in our Congressional Visit Days this month, but no one responded to the post we made about it here in the forums. It also seems like our chapter has been overlooked for mass e-mails that would inform us about national SEDS matters. I only yesterday learned about the SEDS rocketry competition when I looked at the SEDS facebook page.

What do we need to do to get into the loop?

Aha! It seems that I missed an e-mail in February where we were given access to some sort of SEDS google account. I'm not entirely sure what all I'm supposed to do with it, but I was able to make a website for our group. I hope a link to the page will be added by our name on the SEDS chapter listings.
