That is fast indeed, you would have been waiting for something like a week or two, I guess. Not bad!

Anyways, I emailed them on Friday asking if I was still being considered for 52 and got a response Tuesday morning saying that I wasn't amongst those to be interviewed... But then they called me again yesterday telling me that that had been a mixup and now I'm going to ESTEC on Monday - yay! Best phone call ever.

So how did your interview go LuZi? I remember mine last year was very much a standard job interview with lots of generic HR questions, but I'm guessing since the ACT positions seem to be largely research focused that may be a bit different this time. Did you have any detailed technical questions? Anyways good luck getting the position - perhaps we'll be working together at ACT soon! :)

I actually called them first and was given the email address of the person dealing with the YGT interviews. Not sure if it's a good idea to post that on a public forum though, so I'll PM you.

I just called the HR lady at ESTEC. At least the namelist for 040 Automation and Robotics is still under review (and my name is on the list). I wonder how much of her time is consumed by nervous applicants. =)

Yesterday, I had a phone interview for 040. It seems they still try to figure out whom to invite for the interviews at ESTEC.

A phone interview? Interesting. Did they give you any reason for why it was over the phone? And would a regular interview still follow or was this already the last round?

Boo, sorry, I somehow overlooked your earlier message. I'd just call ESTEC switchboard and ask for the HR department. They sent me an HR number at some point, but that doesn't go directly to the person dealing with the YGT programme either. (But if you want that number PM me.)

No, it actually wasn't the last round. I scanned through last year's thread and apparently only the Canadian applicants were pre-interviewed, but that might have also been connected to the position. Anyway, I was told that the decision about whom to invite to the formal interviews at ESTEC will be made within the next few weeks. Unfortunately the interviewer couldn't give me any details on the specific date or whether or not I "passed" the phone interview. Since only 3 people are invited for interviews on site per job it seems that they want to be very thorough with the selection. On the other hand maybe candidates with a high enough relevance are invited directly =) who knows?! Game is still on, boo!

Yeah, I remember that from last year's thread as well and thought they did that only for the Canadians. Which would make sense, I guess, as they'd incur much higher travel expenses for an on-site interview. So I'm a bit puzzled that you got a phone interview!

I guess it could be that either they have too many qualified applicants, or too few qualified applicants, and can't decide whom to invite. Your position didn't get reposted if I remember correctly, did it?
