oh and in case anyone is wondering I asked about the relocation allowance, and its 1/12 of your yearly salary, in a once off lump sum.

Hi all,

alisonoc, I'll be working on the EarthCare project and starting on July 1.
Biuck, that does sound like a great package.

What I'm wondering is where everyone lives at ESTEC. I've heard in either Nordwijk or Leyden but, my wife will probably have better luck finding work in the Amsterdam.

Has anyone heard of someone commuting from Amsterdam to ESTEC? How realistic is it to do this (in terms of time and cost)?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Most of the YGTs-interns-young peolple live in Leiden.
Few live in Noordwijk. Some of these move then to Leiden during winter cause Noordwijk becomes a bit sad without tourists, etc.
Personally,I suggest to live in Leiden.

I live in Leiden with my girlfriend. She works in Amsterdam and she commutes every day without any problems.

Many people live also in Amsterdam but I think they come to ESTEC by car.
Commuting (by train/bus) takes a while and it is quite expensive.

Hope it helps.
Fore more info do not hesitate to send me a PM.

See u soon.

Hi All,

I'm a student from Scotland, coming to ESTEC in July for a 6 month internship. Is anyone coming at around the same time who is looking for accommodation? Looking to share, perhaps?

Where's the best place to start looking/ who's the best person to ask? I dont even know how to begin my search!!

Thanks, Paul
