If you would please list your chapter name and what educational outreach projects you have done, are doing, are planning on doing, or are ongoing (and specify which of the four it is). The more detail the merrier.

I can tell you that the Iowa State Chapter has some very basic outreach that we do occasionally. Most involve explaining how rockets work and doing some simple rocketry. Examples:
* Using stomach acid tablets and water in film canisters (the top has to be the friction-fit kind) to build tiny rockets at schools. We let students design a rocket and nose cone and tape it onto the canister and then launch it a time or two.
* We got some air rockets from a group on campus and used them and some of our high powered rockets to explain to older students how rockets work and how they can do their own low-power rockets at home.
* I just finished up a project last year of building water rockets that we launch at VEISHEA (a big spring campus celebration). It's pretty fun to watch a 2 liter bottle go.

We could probably use some better ideas in the future.

Well, check out the wiki planning page (http://wiki.seds.org/index.php/Outreach ... /resources) for a few ideas. I've been a little out of commission lately from no internet access, but I should be adding a good bundle by the 15th. I'm also going to be writing up a few lesson plans to post that will be originals.

Does Iowa want to stay focused on rockets or branch out to other subject matter as far as their outreach efforts go? What age groups are you working with and in what setting? How large are the groups? Are you planning on including adults? Are you looking for something that can be used multiple times? Are you able to spend a little money on supplies? How often do you plan to do outreach events? I'll respond with a few links and ideas here once you let me know what you are looking for.
